Calculation and management of materials and tools
The application determines the required materials, hand and power tools for a given scope of work and keeps track of them afterwards. The calculation uses consumption rates for each technology stage; the result is saved as a request. A request is passed to the crew or received into a company warehouse. Items are moved between warehouses and issued to company members; each member has a list of what was issued to them.
Workflow
Calculating a request
technology → volume → statement
- Choosing a type of work and a technology
- Entering the work volume and the number of crews
- Statement of materials and tools; the request is saved automatically
Passing a request on
list → sending → warehouse
- List of saved requests
- Sending a link to a messenger or exporting to .ods
- Choosing a warehouse to receive the request items
Warehouse and issuing
warehouses → items → recipient
- Company and personal warehouses
- Selecting items in a warehouse
- Issuing to a company member with quantities
Item catalog
item → sizes → new item
- Materials catalog with search and a type filter
- Item sizes and their codes
- Adding your own item
Your own technology
stages → rates → notes
- Technology composition by stages
- Stage rates: materials, hand and power tools
- A note on a rate: its source or assumption
Calculation method
A technology consists of stages. Each stage has rates: for materials — per unit of work volume, for tools — per crew. A crew is the smallest working group; a team consists of one or more crews.
- Materials
Q = n × Vn — consumption rate per unit of stage volume, V — stage volume. A stage without a volume yields no materials.- Tools
Q = max (n × k)n — rate per crew, k — number of crews. The maximum across stages is taken, not the sum: the same tool moves from stage to stage.- Rounding
- Items counted in pieces are rounded up to a whole number, others to hundredths.
- Items without a rate
- When the quantity depends on site conditions, the rate is zero: the item stays in the request with a mark and is filled in manually.
Data organization
- Size as the key
- Rates and warehouse stock are bound to the assembly code — the item and its parameter values. When parameters change, the link breaks instead of moving to another size.
- Shared and own data
- Editing a shared technology or item creates your own copy; the original stays unchanged for other users.
- Working without an account
- Calculation and requests are available without signing in. Such a request is kept by a key in the browser and is attached to the account after signing in; otherwise it is deleted 30 days after the last change.
- Access by link
- A request opens by link for any recipient — without signing in and without access to the author's other requests.
- Companies and roles
- Warehouses belong to a company. Member roles: owner, management, review, storage. The owner and managers assign to warehouses and issue items; a recipient must be a company member.
- Built for the site
- The layout is designed for a phone screen; action panels are placed at the bottom of the screen.
